Common ways a Wrist injury occurs


Trauma to the wrist is a common cause of injury in young patients. Fall on to an outstretched hand, or a fall that leads to a sudden twisting injury to the wrist can lead to fractures or dislocations of the hand/wrist.

Repetitive Use

Repetitive use is a common cause of wrist injury. People whose occupations require repetitive work such as: carpenters, machinists and typists are particularly susceptible to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.


Normal wear and tear on the joint can accumulate over time and can lead to injury.
